Joan Quinn, MD, BSW, FRCPC
2010-2011
Dr. Joan Quinn is a psychiatrist who provides care to members of the Canadian military based in Petawawa, Ontario. Prior to this she worked in the province of Newfoundland, and played an instrumental role in the development of access for transgender persons.
Trevor Corneil, MD MHSc CCFP (FCFP) FRCPC
2009-2010
Dr. Trevor Corneil is a public health physician who provides primary care to transgender persons in Vancouver, B.C., at Three Bridges Community Health Centre. He is Medical Director of Urban Primary Care for Vancouver Coastal Health Authority overseeing medical services at five community health centres in South Vancouver. He is also Medical Director of VCHA’s Advanced Primary Care Transgender Clinical Service, known internationally as the ‘Vancouver Model’ of care. Dr. Corneil is a Clinical Professor at the University of British Columbia.
Gail Knudson, MD MPE FRCPC
2008-2009
Dr. Knudson is a psychiatrist and Clinical Associate Professor in the UBC Department of Sexual Medicine. As a founding member of CPATH and its first president, she works tirelessly with health providers, bureaucrats, and politicians across the country in an effort to set in motion a ‘standard-of-care’ for transgender persons across the country. In the true spirit of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, she sees a country where people of all genders can live without prejudice or discrimination, and benefit equally before, under, and from the laws of our country. She is currently Secretary-Treasurer of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health.
